On Easter we celebrate the victory we have in our crucified and risen Savior. Our joy comes from the truth that we could not provide the sacrifice to save ourselves from the payment that must be given for our sin against a Holy God. But just as the Lord provided himself a ram in place of Isaac in Genesis 22, He has also provided a lamb without blemish to be our substitute on the cross. Praise the Lord!
“And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called the name of that place, ‘The Lord will provide’; as it is said to this day, ‘On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.’” Genesis 22:13-14
