Jesus was a powerful healer, a charismatic teacher and leader, and a morally upright man, but he didn’t ground his identity in any of those things. Rather, he found his identity in the loving relationship that he had with his Father. As Christians, we too need to find identity, meaning, and significance. Like Jesus, we find our identity first and foremost not in what we do or who we love, but who we’re loved by. Receiving the love of God and knowing God is the only way we can truly love others.
