Scripture doesn’t tell us very much about Jesus’s earthly, adoptive father, Joseph. We do know that he was a humble, God-fearing carpenter in the line of David, but Joseph’s narrative in the Bible is limited to just a couple chapters. However, through Joseph’s story, God show’s us a picture of his own love and care for us, his adopted children.
“When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, 25 but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.” Matthew 1:24-25
