Jacob’s life has had its ups and down when it came to his relationship with the Lord. There were times when it seemed like Jacob was full of faith and recognizing God’s hand in his life. But there were many others where it seems he is completely ignoring the Lord and his ways. In Genesis 34, Jacob is not walking in God’s ways but is only looking out for his well-being. But in Genesis 35, we see Jacob once again turn his heart toward the Lord to rekindle a faith and an obedience that he had once had long ago.
“And God said to him, ‘I am God Almighty; be fruitful and increase in number. A nation and a community of nations will come from you, and kings will be among your descendants. The land I gave to Abraham and Isaac I also give to you, and I will give this land to your descendants after you.'” Genesis 35:11-12
