James finishes his letter with an exhortation for our church communities. We should not take sin lightly in our own lives, but we should also not take it lightly in each other’s. If we see one another wandering away from the truth, we are called to step out and try bring the wanderer back from the sin they have fallen into.
“My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.” James 5:19-20
