After telling his disciples about rewards from the Heavenly Father, Jesus addresses our hearts toward money and possessions. Our hearts are easily mastered by earthly treasures, but Christ admonishes us to have a singular, heaven-ward focus when it comes to our earthly wealth.
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” Matthew 6:24
