In all of our wisdom and knowledge as humans, our philosophy and ethics, we never would have believed that the cross was the best solution to our problem. In fact, apart from God’s wisdom, the cross of Christ looks so entirely foolish and silly. However, it is the great wisdom of God to his glory.
“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18
