As we make choices about our media usage it’s important to realize that the answer to it all is not simply “less”. We have to engage with our own hearts, desires, and motivations when it comes to the “hows” of our engagement. Do we value our relationship with the Lord above all or are we willing to sacrifice it for a temporary media enjoyment? Do we use the media in our lives to love the Lord and to love others, or is it just all about us?
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.” 1 John 2:15-16
