The account of Noah is one of the most well-known stories in the Bible. We can have a peaceful picture of Noah on a big boat with a bunch of smiling animals when we think about this story. But this story should paint an opposite picture. Noah’s flood was God’s judgment on the sin of humankind. But through that judgment, Noah had a genuine faith in the Lord. Noah believed and so he built the Ark. Noah believed and so he entrusted himself to God through the wind and the waves. Noah believed and so he obeyed what God commanded him to do and trusted in what God promised to him.
“And Noah did all that the Lord had commanded him.” Genesis 7:5
